Rajasthan Panorama Duration : 14 Nights / 15 Days Destinations Covered : Delhi – Mandawa – Bikaner – Jaisalmer – Jodhpur – MountAbu – Udaipur – Jaipur – Agra - Delhi Day01 : Delhi Arrive Delhi. Felicitation at the airport and transfer to the hotel. Day02 : Delhi Full day guided tour of New & Old Delhi visiting many places of interest including Humayun’s tomb which is a fine example of Mughal workmanship, President’s House, Parliament House, India gate and of course the towering Qutab Minar complex, a victory column constructed in 1193 to celebrate the capture of Delhi by Muslims. Afternoon, take a tour of Old Delhi and see the imposing Red fort constructed in 1639 by Shah Jahan, Raj Ghat, Chandni Chowk, and the huge Jama Masjid mosque contructed in 1650 again by Shah Jahan. Evening sumptuous Mughlai Dinner with Sitar, the classical instrument.Day03 : Delhi / Mandawa Early morning travel by road to the town of Mandawa located in the Shekhavati region of north – west Rajasthan. On arrival in Mandawa, check in at hotel. Afternoon takes a tour of the town and visit the local bazaars and havelis which are traditional houses with beautifully ornate interior courtyards and paintings. An open air art gallery against a totally bare landscape. Evening dinner at castle Mandawa. Day04 : Mandawa / Bikaner Today travel by road towards central Rajasthan and into the heavily fortified town of Bikaner, famous for camel farms and its colorful population. Constructed in 1488, Bikaner is a royal walled city, its wealth lies in its forts, palaces & temples. Day05 : Bikaner / Jaisalmer Drive through the arid planes and the shifting sanddunes of the Thar desert. Water level is very low for many centuries. Jaisalmer is situated right on the edge of the rolling dunes with the entrie city construced out of sandstone glowing orange and pink during the last rays of the day’s sun. It makes for one of the most beautiful sunsets. On arrival check –in to your hotel. Day06 : Jaislmer Morning tour of the city visiting Sonar Fort 80 mtrs high, Gadsisar Lake, Bahttiani Sati – Rani and the royal cenotaphs at Bara Bagh. Day07 : Jaisalmer / Jodhpur Travel south to the spectacular fortress city of Jodhpur founded in 1459. Transfer to hotel and rest. Evening a royal dinner at the Palace. Day08 : Jodhpur Visit the Mehrangarh fort which really gives you a feel of the Rajput war – like atmostphere. Spreading over 5km on a perpendicular hill and looking down from a height of about 1225 metres, thr fort appears rugged and impenetrable from outside but houses some of the most intricately adorned palaces with exquisitively carved panels and latticed windows. Also visit Jaswant Thada, Sardar Market and Mandore. This evening you will have a Rajasthani dinner in the open-air courtyards of Hari Mahal. Day09 : Jodhpur / Mt. Abu Leave Jodhpur and travel to the 1200 mts. High plateau of Mt. Abu enroute visiting Ranakpur. Ranakpur temples are over 500 years old and well preserved almost in perfect condition. Mount Abu, the highest point of thr the Aravali range that strethes through southern Rajasthan. It is very well known foe tis Jain Dilwara temples which rival even Ranakpur for their intricate marble carvings and their archaeological remains. They are to be seen to believe. It is art at its finest. Evening free. Day10 : Mount Abu / UdaipurTravel by road northwards to the lake city of Udaipur which once was the capital of the state. On arrival, check into your hotel and spend your evening at leisure. Day11 : Udaipur Rise early this morning and commence your tour of Udaipur with a visit to the beautiful City Palace which was construred in 1725 and contains several smaller palaces inside. Then it is on to the Jagdish temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu built 1651 by Maharana Jagat Singh. Also visit the city’s fascinating museum, thr garden of the maids of honour, Pratap memorial which pays homage to Rana Pratap, Sajan Nivas Garden.Evening free. Dinner in the beautiful Lake Palace. Day12 : Udaipur / Jaipur Early morning transfer to thr airport for the flight to Jaipur. Arrival transfer to hotel. Evening visit local bazaars colourful, bright costumes, linen and precious and semi – precious jewelleries. Day13 : Jaipur Morning sightseeing of the “Pink City” visiting the City Palace, including Chandra Mahal, Mabarak Mahal, Diwan – I – Am and Diwan – I – Khas and the meseum. Visit Jantar Mantar (the observatory), Palace of Winds and Albert Hall meseum. Evening visit Tripolia Bazar, Johari Bazar, vegetable / block printing and tie & dye factory. Day14 : Jaipur / Agra Early morning elephant ride excursion to Amer Fort –a fascinating blend of Hindu & Muslim architecture built in the 16th century. Proceed to Agra enroute visiting Fatehpur Sikri,the ghost Kingdom of Emperor Akbar. Arrive Agra, transfer to hotel. Evening gala dinner. Day15 : Agra / Delhi Morning sunrise visit of Taj Mahal, the white marble memorial, WONDER OF THE WORLD.Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan in loving memory of his queen Mumtaz Mahal. It took 22 years to complete by 1652 AD. Return back to hotel. Later visit Itmad – ud – Daulah, another memorial predating Taj Mahal, Agra Fort – the red sandstone massive fort, built in 1556 AD. It houses the Pearl Mosque and many others. Late evening departure by train, arrive Delhi. Transfer to your hotel. Day16 : Day free for independent activity Evening transfer to international airport.
